About Cardiff Crown Court

Cardiff Crown Court is the senior Crown Court centre on the Wales Circuit of HM Courts & Tribunals Service (HMCTS). The building is a striking Grade I listed Edwardian structure forming part of Cathays Park Civic Centre, alongside Cardiff City Hall and the National Museum of Wales. The court regularly sits with High Court Judges hearing the most serious indictable cases for the whole of Wales, as well as appeals committed from Cardiff Magistrates' Court (Fitzalan Place) and surrounding magistrates' courts across Glamorgan and Gwent. Bilingual proceedings in Welsh and English are accommodated under the Welsh Language Act.
