About Luton Crown Court

Luton Crown Court is housed in a purpose-built Modernist courthouse on George Street, opened in 1991 and designed by the Property Services Agency. Before this venue was commissioned, serious indictable matters from Bedfordshire were tried at the historic Shire Hall in Bedford; the rising criminal caseload in the south of the county made a dedicated Luton venue essential.
