The Stoke-on-Trent Combined Court Centre opened on 5 December 1991, replacing the former criminal court facilities at Hanley Town Hall in Albion Square. Designed by the Property Services Agency in a Modernist red-brick style, the building was constructed at a cost of £9.5 million and was officially opened by the Lord Chief Justice, Lord Lane. The court centre serves as both a Crown Court for criminal proceedings and a County Court for civil matters, making it one of the key judicial venues in Staffordshire.
