The Warwickshire Justice Centre replaced the historic Shire Hall on Northgate Street in Warwick, which had served as the county's principal courthouse since 1758. The Quarter Sessions and Assizes held at Shire Hall merged in 1971 to form the Crown Court, and in December 2010 all court functions transferred to the purpose-built £26 million Justice Centre in Leamington Spa. Queen Elizabeth II officially opened the building on 4 March 2011. The centre was designed to integrate police, court, and support services under one roof, with seven Crown Court courtrooms equipped with modern technology including prison-to-court video links, evidence presentation screens, and hearing enhancement systems.
The court building is open Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
