Kingston upon Thames Crown Court is one of South West London's busiest criminal courts, sitting at 6–8 Penrhyn Road in the historic royal borough of Kingston upon Thames. Our daily Kingston Crown Court listings page publishes the latest cause lists straight from HMCTS CourtServe feeds, so legal professionals, journalists, defendants, witnesses and members of the public can check which courtroom a case is sitting in, the assigned judge and the scheduled hearing time. Whether you are searching for Kingston Crown Court cases today, sentencing hearings tomorrow, or a trial later in the week, the listings above are refreshed throughout the working day.
About Kingston Crown Court
Opened in 1997, the modernist red-brick courthouse on Penrhyn Road replaced the historic Sessions House in nearby Surbiton, which had become too small for the volume of criminal work generated across South West London. Designed around five courtrooms with secure custody facilities, video-link suites and separate witness waiting areas, Kingston Crown Court is designated as Court Centre #427 within the Crown Court estate. It serves communities across the London boroughs of Kingston, Richmond, Wandsworth, Merton, Sutton and parts of Surrey, handling indictable-only and either-way offences committed for trial or sentence from the surrounding Magistrates' Courts.
Cases Heard at Kingston Crown Court
The court hears the full spectrum of Crown Court business, including serious criminal trials, plea and trial preparation hearings (PTPH), sentencing, appeals from the Magistrates' Court against conviction or sentence, and confiscation proceedings under the Proceeds of Crime Act. Typical case categories include:
- Murder, manslaughter and serious violent offences
- Sexual offences and historic abuse trials
- Class A drug supply, importation and conspiracy
- Robbery, burglary and aggravated theft
- Fraud, money laundering and Proceeds of Crime Act hearings
- Firearms, knife crime and public order offences
- Appeals against Magistrates' Court convictions and sentences
Notable proceedings here have included the 2008 conviction of preachers Abu Izzadeen, Sulayman Keeler and Abdul Rahman Saleem for terrorism-related offences, the 2009 conviction of serial sex attacker Kirk Reid on 28 counts, the 2025 racial harassment trial of Australian footballer Sam Kerr, and the recent child cruelty conviction of former Twickenham nursery worker Roksana Lecka — cases which underline the court's role as a regional hub for high-profile London trials.
