About Northampton Crown Court

Northampton Crown Court forms part of the combined Crown, County and Family Court hearing centre at 85-87 Lady’s Lane, Northampton, Northamptonshire, NN1 3HQ. The buff-stone building was designed by Kit Allsopp Architects and completed in 1987 at a cost of around £11.5 million, replacing the historic Sessions House on George Row as the city’s principal criminal court. It is one of the busier Midland Circuit venues, hearing indictable-only offences, either-way cases sent up from Northampton Magistrates’ Court, appeals against magistrates’ decisions and committals for sentence from across Northamptonshire — including Wellingborough, Kettering, Corby, Daventry and Brackley.
